Swimtime's Helen Jenkins wins gold

October 27, 2011   //   by Jane-Ann   //   News, Press

We’re delighted to report that Swimtime’s Helen Jenkins won three gold medals at the Len European Masters Swimming Championships in September. It’s a fantastic achievement and one that has left us all in awe of Helen, a Swimtime teacher based in Lancashire.

Helen won gold in the 100m breaststroke, the 200m breaststroke, and the open water event.

“Winning felt fantastic,” says Helen. “The 100m race was very close, the 200m a little easier, and the open water a complete shock! I had only done two open water races before, and presumed that everyone else in my age group had already finished, so I was amazed to find I was first back!.”

Helen teaches for Swimtime in Southport. “The children I teach were (I hope) impressed,” she says. “Especially as one little boy asked me recently if I had swimming lessons too!”

To book a lesson with Helen please call Swimtime on 01254 739170 or get in touch using our contact form.

Swimtime lessons now available in Blackpool

//   by Jane-Ann   //   Franchise updates, New courses, News

We’re opening new venues for lessons all the time, and in response to local demand we recently started offering classes for the new term in Blackpool. You can now book Swimtime sessions in the Imperial, Hilton and De Vere Village hotels in the town.

Lessons are run by David and Jo Drury (pictured right) our newest franchisees. David learned to swim as an adult just a few years ago, and soon realised what a great business opportunity it would be to run a Swimtime franchise with his wife Jo.

To find out more about swimming lessons in Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecombe and the surrounding area call David or Jo on 01524 899319 or get in touch using our contact form.

By 'eck the first Boddington's girl is a Swimtime franchisee

//   by Jane-Ann   //   Franchise updates, News, Press

Meet Swimtime franchisee Debby Carr. A highly successful model since the 1980s, five years ago Cheshire-born Debby swapped the catwalk for the poolside when she bought her own Swimtime franchise in the south of England.

She’s now in charge of Swimtime lessons in London and the Home Counties.

“I find it very rewarding knowing that I am providing a top class service that is extremely valuable and, importantly, an essential life skill to children and adults,” says Debby.

Although she had a very long and distinguished modelling career, Debby is best known as the first Boddington’s girl who rubbed her face with the frothy head of a pint of Boddie’s. The famous catchline was, “By ‘eck you smell gorgeous, petal.”
