Fall in strength and fitness of 10-year-olds

Children’s health is crucial. Especially in today’s environment, with so many distractions and influences; smartphones, tablets, games consoles, fast food, the list goes on!

This study shows just how much these changes have affected our children, their hobbies and habits. With children becoming taller and heavier, but instead of growing stronger they’re weaker than past generations (20% decrease in muscle strength between 1998 and 2014). This only reiterates to us at Swimtime that the job we do is crucial, to make kids see exercise as fun!

Our teachers work incredibly hard to make our lessons engaging, interesting and fun. All whilst teaching the crucial skills and techniques to be competent in the water.

We hope that if more kids sign up to Swimtime, the more communities we can instil a healthy lifestyle into for the future.
